Immigration Alert: Extension of the Waiver on Illegal Stay of Foreign residents and Visitors in Uganda

The Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration Control (DCIC), of the Republic of Uganda, issued a second press statement dated 20th/5/2020 “Extending the Waiver on Illegal Stay of Foreign residents and Visitors in Uganda” whose immigration facilities could have expired during the COVID-19 Nation-wide lock-down that began on 18th/3/2020.

The second press statement is to the effect that “All foreign residents and visitors have been granted another waiver of the fines accruing from illegal stay of foreigners in Uganda until 9th/6/2020”. This therefore gives relief and firm reassurance to our foreign Clients in Uganda with expired immigration facilities that they can freely access services in Uganda without the usual threats of being arrested.

As PHLEB Associated Advocates in partnership with Africa Immigration Advisory Services (AFIAS) we are confident that our global Clients, both in Uganda and abroad, will thrive amidst this pandemic.

We wish all our esteemed Clients good health and we are assured that a new world awaits us.
